If you've ever tried to put a normal encoder knob on the McLaren wheel you'll know the flat part of the shaft doesn't line up with where you want the dial to point, so your numbers are off. This design has the grub screw coming in at the exact angle so when you set it to position 1, the 1 is shown- yes they also look amazing and feel real nice.

To install: 1-Set encoder to a position (doesn't matter which) 2-slide something like a credit card under your encoder knob and pop the knob off 3-install new knob pointing to same position you chose in step 1 4-tighten grub screw (don't go mad with the tightening it just needs to not move) 5-admire it
